“Creating this book was a response to people constantly asking for my recipes.
I got tired of trying to dictate recipes over the counter (at Santos) or on a retreat, so I created a blog four years ago that I could point people toward”
After 28 years of a planet based lifestyle, Anthea’s knowledge and expertise on all things vegan and healthy is inspirational, and often life changing for many of her clients. Anthea is a self taught vegan chef, cooking for herself since she was 14 years old. She started writing this cookbook 16 years ago while cooking for the famous vegetarian restaurant ‘Food for Friends’ in Brighton, England in 1998. She travelled all over Europe for the next 5 years, catering for the odd summer party or art exhibition opening in the south of France and was the resident cook in the yoga retreat centre ‘Holistic Holidays’ on one of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote, for around 18 months. Anthea Amore returned to the Byron shire in 2003 and began catering in the region. She worked at the Byron Organic Kitchen for a short time and then managed the well-known ‘Santos Organics’ café & kitchen for 5 years. She has been fulltime catering for the last 6 years in her business Organic Passion Catering, with husband Caspar Brace.
The recipes in this beautiful cookbook are 100% vegan, sugar-free, 98% gluten-free, and 60% raw living foods. Dishes such as beetroot & lime gazpacho, Sang Choy Bow with crispy tempeh, savoury millet patties with sweet beetroot & caraway relish, chocolate salted hazelnut fudge and mini raw lemon & blueberry cheezecake. YUM!
PASSION, organic vegan recipes to live for, reveals a glimpse into the exciting new world of gourmet vegan cookery and the philosophies behind it.

What is your favorite vegan meal to cook for others, and why?
i love cooking indian curry for friends. The flavours are amazing & I can also make this gluten free
I like trying new recipes to share with friends.
Zucchini pasta, everyone thinks it’s cool 🙂
I love making pumpkin and lentil curry with quinoa, this dish is so popular in my family (even for the none vegans) I love to make this because the pumpkin makes it go all creamy and mushy and it just melts in your mouth. Even my 2 year old loves this dish! It’s a family favourite.
I do a mushroom and lentil loaf every Christmas. I can make it gluten free and any leftovers are delicious on sandwiches with some mushroom gravy!
I’m still learning to cook a variety of vegan meals and haven’t quite built up the confidence to serve anything to anyone else just yet! I think this book could really help! 🙂
I make a Mexican bowl, which consists of chilli blackbeans, brown rice with chia seeds, homemade guacamole and a homemade cashew sour cream. It’s a little bowl of heaven. Just talking about it makes me want it now. I cook it for others to shock them. To show them that vegan food is not just a slice of tofu and steamed veggies. That you don’t miss meat when you cook vegan food properly. That sour cream can be dairy free and delicious and that you can do so much with a cruelty free lifestyle.
My favourite vegan meal to cook is anything desserts. They can be so visually pleasing and they taste amazing! It shows people how delicious and simple it is to make vegan meals…you might even see them start up a passion for vegan food!
I love making lentil pie as it’s so yummy and no one can even tell it’s vegan
I’ve never had to, so I’d be glad of PASSION being to hand to inspire a wonderful vegan meal.
I’m new to it all, so still learning… Would love to make something Mexican one day soon
Lentil ragu/bolognese… really yummy even for non-vegans!
Stuffed capsicums or zucchini’s! So simple and really fills them up and shows how healthy can be super satisfying and delicious! Oh and falafels – they’re super simple and nourishing at the same time!
I love vegan nachos or mexican bowls with loads of avocado. So incredibly fresh and perfect for the hot weather 🙂
The Banana Curry based off the recipe of Grace Love’s vegan cookbook. Utterly amazing, so many interesting new flavours, real simple and easy to make. Really good to eat during all kinds of weather.
my family and friends all love my vegan coconut dahl – i use lots of vegies in it and it tastes divine and even my children love it it so it is a winner 🙂
Tofu Quiche. My Dad who is a big meat eater loves it. He always goes for seconds. I love that. 🙂
Vegetarian Quinoa Burritos. Made with quinoa, roasted peppers, corn, beans and green onions…It’s so colourful and tasty! Everybody likes it!!
I love cooking anything! From curry to muffins and everything in between. Polenta fries always seam to win everyone over as a favourite.
I love to make Chinese style steamed baby eggplant with satay sauce. Accompanied by Chinese greens stir fried with garlic and sesame oil. Yum yum, and they don’t even have to know it is vegan!
Falafel or tempeh lettuce wraps! I serve all ingredients on a huge platter so each guest can pick and choose what they would like on their individual lettuce wrap, that way there is something for even the fussiest of “meat eaters”. All topped with yummy homemade vegan condiments of course!
dumpling soup made with oyster mushrooms and pea shoots, because they are absolutely delicious and even the meat lovers in my family prefer it to the meat dishes 🙂 just love it when people enjoy vegan food more than non-vegan
Curry thai pumpkin soup. I am a lazy cook and on a budget so this is spot on for me – pumpkin, massaman curry, light coconut milk, garlic, onions. The hardest part is cutting the pumpkin! Delicious, freezes well and I make enough for a week’s worth of dinners and share more with non-vegan friends.
desserts! i made some mini vegan doughnuts topped with coconut glaze and toasted coconut today, to prove vegans can have great desserts to!
For others i always cook cookies, more specifically date and almond cookies. ❤ they are to die for… i do it to reassure people that veganism isn't all about knowing on a carrot stick all day… it's about abundance. 🙂
my favourite vegan meal to cook for others is pad thai! it is simple, so yummy and always a crowd pleaser with my non-vegan friends and family 🙂
I haven’t got a favourite yet, as I am still experimenting with vegan recipes (which is why I would love to win this!) but so far the best ones have been Vegan Pea and Pesto risotto, Vegan pies and zucchini fries and Vegan creamy mac and cheese with broccoli. 🙂
Spicy black bean and mushroom burgers!meat eaters are always surprised at how tasty and filling they are, they can’t believe there vegan!
My favourite vegan meal is vegetarian lasagne . Easy, simple, delicious and satisfying !
I love to serve Vegan food in general to others. It is such an eye opener for non vegans that vegan food can actually taste great. I love it when someone says to me how wonderful the meal was or that was the best cake they have ever eaten and I can be proud to tell them it is cruelty free and that you do not need to harm other living beings in order to have incredible food.
Lentil pie To show my non-vegan friends how cool it is to be vegan
I’m from Wisconsin, so I have a VERY meat-and-potatoes family. Doing a simple mashed sweet potato stuffed acorn squash with almonds and chopped prunes is always a hit with my momma. For my dad and sister, it’s honestly hopeless. I can’t even win them over with dessert! Oh well….at least 1/3 isn’t so bad.
I’d cook something simple yet stunning to “wow” family & friends and to show that vegan cooking doesn’t have to be complicated!
Vegan chocolate tofu pie is my go to, super delicious and so exciting that everybody wants a slice. Can pour on a raw crust or eat straight.
Oh this book looks great! I like cooking for others food with lots of flavour, my go to meals are pumpkin, mushroom Wellington it has so much flavour using mushroom, pumpkin, almonds, pinenuts, rosemary and spices! Delicious!
And Moroccan soup
Lentil bolognaise – even non-vegans have enjoyed it and commented how good it is!!
Mushroom stroganoff. The flavours that you can get into it are thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Zucchini pasta with peanut butter tofu!
cauliflower pizza with soy cheese, roasted tomatoes, and basil pesto
I love cooking vegan sausage rolls because I always fool the meat eaters 😉
Love making my pesto stuffed mushrooms, everyone drools & comes back for more, even the omnis 🙂
My favourite thing to cook is defiantly seitan! I love fooling my omni friends and family into thinking i cooked them meat, and then telling them it was vegan afterwards. 🙂
A BIG VEGAN SHEPHERD’S PIE! It’s hearty, wholesome and just tastes so good! Tim Shieff’s recipe on Jamie Oliver’s cooking channel is the bomb! The goodness of all the beans, vegetables and herbs is out of this world! Sharing it with my family in winter is so comforting, YUM!
